I am grateful to hear this news. I have been praying with you and reading your work for many years (even back to the Crisis days). I am one of your Catholic readers, still holding on. I actually live near St. Tikhons and am friends with several seminarians--good friends with one who is leaving this month--we had several poetry nights together...long story. It will be wonderful to have you near us in northeast PA. I truly hope to meet you when you are here. If you have access to my e-mail through this comment, please feel free to drop me a line.

I’ll be praying for you ... and your wife also. This is her journey to become a priest’s wife, which is quite an undertaking, too. Hope you can stop by in “Notes” occasionally to keep in touch.

Praise God! We visited St. Tikhon’s for the first time the spring for a retreat on marriage with the wonderful David Ford! What a beautiful place for learning and formation! I am very excited for you! Please let us hear from you in whatever way you are blessed by the priest school! Praise God and bless you in all your endeavors, and may we soon say with others, “Axios,” by the grace of God!

I will pray for you and your family and give thanks for you all in your commitment and sacrifice to the priesthood. We need you. The world needs you. We’ll miss your writing…that’ll be our sacrifice as we all make our way forward. I pray God blesses and consoles you richly along your way.

May the Lord keep you on your way into the priesthood! (Pre-school can be pretty serious too, tbh.) The world needs more good priests, and I’m confident you’ll be one. Such a blessing for everyone!

Congratulations. The Church certainly needs more priests and I believe you will be a good one. I've been impressed with all of the late vocation priests I've met over the years. Keep in touch sir. I've enjoyed our fairly brief acquaintanceship.

Though I’ll miss your Substack, it sounds like a good plan. God bless you and your family,

May Our Lord help and guide your studies and your family to Him, and give you a blessed and stainless priesthood, Michael!

If you bump into Dr. Christopher Veniamin, say a prayer for me and for him. His lectures and books are being incredibly helpful to me.

Prayers forthcoming. Hopefully pwiestschool will let you publish notes on your journey if they are reminded that they receive free advertising in the process.

Congratulations and best wishes on your new venture. I'll miss Owl in the Ruins, but understand the reason for the hiatus; and I expect it will be even better when/if it does return.

If you are able, put in a good word for the wastelands of southwestern Maine/southeastern NH, where we are trapped in GOA captivity. Seriously. There is NO other option for church. We desperately need an option, especially if the EP pursues his plans for union with Rome.
